Hal Parenti Doesn’t Trust His New Fireball To Just ANY Radio

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , on January 27, 2012 by mikegoesflying

Hal Parenti just sent in a picture of his latest masterpiece.  A BEAUTIFUL Fireball. Every rivet, every detail, carefully constructed to compete for 2012. This is one BEAUTIFUL aircraft.

The Radio Hal uses is Airtronics. Hal ALWAYS has used Airtronics and still does. We’re honored to have a legend of Hal’s position in the scale R/C community fly Airtronics.  See Hal’s latest aircraft at AMA Nats and Toledo 2012.

Greg Meierhoff – Congrats!

Greg emailed us this week with this great pic and some great news!

At the District 7 NSRCA Championships for 2011. Greg won all six rounds in intermediate. In understated fashion, Greg commented: “Nice weekend.”

His SD-10G performed flawlessly and Great had a great time.

I also wanted to point out Greg was instrumental in getting us another Single Stick/Foot Pedel setup for an RC pilot who only has use of one arm. Similar to the RDS8000 we set up for John Greenshields , this new SD-10G is spectacular with it’s single stick knob for control. Our service staff diligently on this project and I think it’s paid off!

The foot pedal is connected to a lead we extended out of the bottom of the radio. Next to it is a switch. If the pilot wants, he can flip the switch and the left stick will work as normal. Or, he flips the switch the other way and the pedal and the right stick “rudder knob” is actuated.

And if the pilot wants to later, the knob can even be removed and the radio can work as normal.

This just in from Bob McGowan

Hi Mike,

We just had our F3J soaring team selection event in Florida and you’ll be happy to hear that all of the pilots that made the USA senior team flew the Airtronics SD10G. That is Cody Remington, Tom Kiesling, and myself. I’m looking forward to representing the USA in South Africa next summer.

Best Regards,

Bob McGowan

Congrats Team USA F3B – Silver Team Finish

This just in from David Klein:

Mike Greenshields and Airtronics USA,

I wanted to take the time to formally thank the entire Airtronics family. The support that the 2011 US F3B team received from Airtronics USA, and all of the staff that make up the ATX family was really above and beyond. We traveled to Laiwu, China on September 15th, and prepared to compete with the rest of the world from September 23rd through the 28th. We blogged every day of travel on our website, posting pictures and reports daily. Blogging directly to our website ensured that those following our progress would be continually exposed to our sponsors banners, Airtronics being #1.

Attached are some images of all three team pilots using their SD-10Gs. …

The US team won a silver medal for the team score with Kyle Paulson placing 4th, David Klein placing 6th, and Thomas Kiesling placing 8th all using SD-10Gs. I couldn’t be more appreciative of being part of the Airtronics team.

Thank you again for all of your support. It really makes me proud to be part of the family,
David

AMA Nats

Ed Franz and Don Richmond at the E-Nats

The Team likes to win. It is true. We are fortunate to have on Team Airtronics some of the most competitive flyers and drivers in the world today. However, Team Airtronics is about so much more than winning a contest. Our true focus is to promote the hobby for fun and competition.

One of those dedicated hobbyists is our own Ed Franz. Ed is modeler through and through. Last month at the AMA Nationals, Ed competed. But more than that he volunteered, providing his own leadership and organization skills to help his fellow modelers enjoy a fun and fair event.

Ed volunteered, competed, and even helped keep his fellow modelers informed about the event. Thank YOU to ED and everyone like him who volunteer at events from Fun Fly’s to the NATS across the country!

This is from Ed:

Hi Mike,

I survived E-Nats this year! Being the event director, Nats News reporter and photographer took its toll on me. We flew in a 115 heat index every day. I am glad to be home.

My personal results:

ALES: 5th place

28mm: 4th place

Class A: 5th place

Class B: 2nd place

Long week, but fun now that I look back on it. I sent along a picture that was on the back cover of the Nats News.

Ed

Ken Perkins and His Claude

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , on December 3, 2010 by mikegoesflying

This is no clod-hopper! This absolute beauty is built by Airtronics Team Member Ken Perkins. Truly a work of art in our opinion. The detail, the scale lines, and the overall authenticity are truly impressive. Ken is a master builder and all-around GREAT guy. We’re proud of his wins and accomplishments and proud to have him on the team! You can find Ken at most One Eighth Air Force events in Arizona and usually a few Scale Squadron events here in So- CA.

Wow, so many wins, so many new products, so little time.

It blows my mind to think 3 years ago we didn’t even have our own radio line and now we have the award winning, World-Champion, World-Famous Airtronics. We’ve sent SD-10G’s to many respectable wins at both the local, domestic, and international competition and now have many AMA wins and a WORLD Championship.

Congratulations, to Skip Miller, World-Champion Daryl Perkins and thank you to all those team members using the SD-10G. And now, it turns out two of the next F3B flyers on TEAM USA will be flying Airtronics! Kyle Paulson, David Klein, you guys rocked!

On the car side, I simply can’t keep up with all the wins with the M11X, there are just too many! Dedicated Team-Airtronics drivers like Ryan Maifield and Ryan Cavalieri are winning almost daily it seems.

I’m proud to be part of Team Airtronics and I’m sure all of our drivers and flyers are too.

But the team is not why we’re here, we’re here to support every modeler flying and driving Airtronics, and I hope you take advantage of that. From our great service to dedicated R&D teams, there’s assistance for every Airtronics owner out there and new product coming in all the time.

Check this out, yes you might have even heard it here first! Airtronics is coming out with a surface pistol grip that features telemetry. And this is an ALL NEW radio from the ground up! It’s called the MT4, it could be out as early as January with legal FCC certification. It’s really cool.

On the airplane side, we have new receivers (two new FHSS3 receivers and a micro 3gram FHSS1 4 channel receiver).  And all of the airplane receivers are now available as 3 packs to save MONEY!

There’s even more coming for 2011 and a lot more team action too. We hope to see you at the field with a new Airtronics radio so you can see why we all bleed blue at Airtronics.

Happy Holidays

Mike Greenshields
